In 1996, Late Venerable (Dr) Babatunde Oluyemisi Abisoye.. A wonderful husband, Consultant Physician and
Cardiologist, Medical Director NISONE SPECIALIST CLINIC Ltd and Venerable Archdeacon in The Anglican Communion and I started an organization that took care of women in all areas of life. It was “Serendipity House”. This led to my training under “Serendipity House USA”. I had my specialty on “Search the scriptures and Christian family life education”. We both worked together, and many workshops/seminars were organized for women and couples, everywhere we worked and went. He loved family life and honored every man who loved his wife. I grew too, as a very young woman to be a more lovely wife to him.
Yemisi also moved to establishing “Mission for the Family” which got me writing tracts about marriage and parenting. We both had a weekly programme on Galaxy Television .. “Echoes of the Heart”, a 2-Hour live programme”.
In 1999,I was appointed with his permission by our father in God, Late Venerable Olu Oshewa, the then Chairman, Board of Evangelism(Diocese of Lagos-West) to be the “Family Missioner” for our new diocese. This I worked from 1999- till 2008
when Yemisi died.
I withdrew because it was difficult to cope without Yemisi. He was the biggest support for the family mission which needed a lot of money to run of which he didn't want me to fail at.
In 2008, I had an option to go on with the full ministries we ran together but, I was not anymore married. So, I decided to pick one of the departments “THE WIDOWS”.
I could cope well here because I will be dealing with fellow widows who share the grave experience with me. So.. “Gods Wives” started with the 28 widows we had when he was here. The widows visited me and welcomed me for joining
their community. The number grew daily.. Our home in Maryland.Ikeja became the haven for WIDOWS, FATHERLESS AND ORPHANS.
Then it dawned on me that Yemisi and I were just helping the widows to take care of their material needs and not the heavy emotional pains.
Widowhood is a select community that these women belong to. This is the “Tenth” year of God's Wives. Today, with You... We have touched the lives of over 12,000 Widows..
I miss Yemisi's touch, his love, concern, care, money and everything. Coping is tougher by the days as many wives become widows every minute. I prayed to God for His help to send funders and carers.
We didn't get enough response. What could I still do? I had to form a group of men and
women who will fill/perform the roles of Yemisi. It was then that, “THE VENERABLE'S MEN” idea came to my mind. “The Venerable's men will be great men and women of God and God believing ministers and godly people.
The bishop (Prof) Dapo Asaju had been the supporting minister at Serendipity House since year 2003-till date. He is now the chairman of the organization. Whenever he visited, it was this feeling of Yemisi's presence. How will it feel if I had a community of men and women of God standing with me as pillars? Telling me, it is well, they are here with me? It will be my utmost joy. This is why, I need you. All of you. Covering me with the colors of your collars and robes, blessing us with the anointing of God upon your lives.
I appreciate all you who have been helping me with this work. You know God has blessed you for it. I still need you all, “The Venerable's Men & Ladies”. Loved and invited. JOIN US! God bless you and keep you as you take this appointment and serve with me in making these “NEEDY WIDOWS” happy again.
God Loves Widows… I love US… I know that You Care too…
